Synopsis

The 203rd Aerial Mage Battalion stumbles into contact with a Commonwealth submarine operating under top secret orders. If they can just take that sub down, Tanya is certain, this time she'll finally earn the glittering result that secures her a safe rear posting on the elite track—or so she seethes to herself. But reality is never that kind. Being X's capricious meddling and the sheer unreason of a battlefield that never goes to plan drag her once again toward a death line she never wanted. Volume 10 continues the trials of the coldly rational little-girl mage.

⚠ Spoiler warning — tap to reveal
The clash with the submarine proves a trap beyond Tanya's calculations. The pursuit across sea and sky drags into an unexpectedly long engagement, and the battalion is ground down. She dreams of a "ticket to the rear," but the more merit she earns, the more dangerous the missions that land on her—a vicious cycle she cannot break. Suspecting Being X's interference yet muscling through with pure reason, she barely survives the crisis, still far from the peace she craves. Total war expands to engulf the whole Empire, and her cherished dream of a safe rear posting recedes ever further.
