Synopsis

On Ainz's orders, the vampire Guardian Shalltear sets out alone to gather intelligence on the world. She carries out her mission with matchless power — until she crosses paths with a mysterious group and abruptly falls out of contact. Before long, an unthinkable report reaches Ainz in the Great Tomb of Nazarick: Shalltear, who should have been the most loyal of all, has raised the banner of rebellion against her master. The cause of Shalltear's madness is mind control by one of this world's mighty World Items. Someone is puppeteering her and turning her fangs on Ainz. Recognizing this as an enemy's scheme rather than true betrayal, Ainz steels himself to stop his beloved Guardian with his own hands. The other Guardians waver, Nazarick's unity is tested, and a new mystery emerges — who is the mastermind? On the eve of a clash between two of the strongest beings, Ainz's resolve as a commander is put to the test, and the tension builds to its peak ahead of the summit battle to come.
