Synopsis

Having somehow wrapped up the huge uproar in the casino nation Elroad, Kazuma and company safely return to the Kingdom of Belzerg. The big job is done, so once the grand banquet ends, Kazuma plans to hurry back to his familiar town of Axel, but when his beloved little sister figure Iris pleads that she wants to live together with him, even a lazy slacker like him can't just brush her off. Volume 20 blends leisurely days in the capital with the usual madcap antics.

Kept behind by Iris, Kazuma ends up lingering in the capital, but behind the scenes the schemes of the royal family and nobility begin to stir once more. While lapping up the cushy noble lifestyle, he's constantly jerked around by the troublesome tasks foisted on him and the lively exchanges with the women around him. In the end Kazuma puts Iris's happiness first, clumsily nudging her toward standing on her own two feet. Focusing on relationships and the nuances of daily life more than any great battle, the volume closes with a sense that the story is heading toward its finale.
