Synopsis

After parting ways with Iris, Kazuma has completely lost his drive to adventure. With plenty of money on hand, he plans to laze about and recover for a while, but that plan collapses when Darkness suddenly becomes obsessed with hunting bounty-marked monsters and drags the party out into the field. Behind her strange determination lurks the shadow of a political marriage closing in on her noble house. Money, desire, and family duty tangle together, turning the usual chaos into the prelude to a far bigger storm in volume twelve.

Darkness fixates on bounty hunting to earn money to clear the debts crushing the failing Dustiness house and to break off a marriage arrangement with the opportunistic noble Alderp. Kazuma's party is dragged along unaware, until the truth comes out. Determined to protect her family, Darkness resolves to accept the political marriage and returns to her estate without even saying goodbye. Left behind, Kazuma hides real resolve behind his usual sarcasm and vows to win her back, setting up the rescue that drives the next volume.
